Elliotte Rusty Harold
Rusty Harold has earned a reputation as an XML expert and Java
expert. He frequently teaches XML tutorials and he's a prolific author of technical books.
He has written several best sellers about XML
and Java programming.
Rusty is an
adjunct professor at Polytechnic University of Brooklyn, New York and a frequent speaker at
tech conferences. He also
publishes the Cafe con Leche and Cafe au Lait web sites.

During Software Development West 2004, Rusty taught several
sessions and agreed to sit down for an interview. He described the state of
Java, including the substantive changes in JDK 1.5. He also discussed whether
Java should be open source and/or an international standard. Rusty also
commented about the state of XML and the family of XML-related specifications.
